The Immortality Project - Can We Survive Death and Should We Want to?

A group of immortalists have set up a project to investigate and research the possibility of life after death. They have brought together top scientists, philosophers and theologians to look at the possibilities from all perspectives.  They will work on extending life by scientific means, on "cryonics," which is the practice of freezing bodies with a hope of resuscitating them later, and sea creatures that regenerate, like the immortal jelly fish, the little hydra and various worms.  Also supernatural experiences, such as near-death experience and lots more.

If they succeed, what would be the implications? The ethics philosopher, Mary Midgley, has a few words to say about that.
