The Tragedy of Gender-Based Abortion

I think this has been one of the most difficult and distressing articles I have written, not only for its consequences but also the painful history of female negation that has brought it about. Thanks heavens for great people like Professor Amaryta Sen, whose work has brought the truth of what is happening every day in certain countries, to the eyes of the world.

To help unravel the cultural background to these painful issues, I have leaned on the work of the fabulous Canadian, Professor Steven Pinker, who's work, for me, is the most compelling and enlightening.
